More than energy

🧱 LinkedIn bubbles are a strange thing. Mine keeps explaining how easy the switch to electric trucks is. And then publicly wonders why so few are actually doing it.

👂 Funny, because that was me at the start of the year, when I made the switch into the electric truck space myself. But over the last months here in Switzerland, I’ve been listening carefully to the smaller, „wild“ haulage operators. And we kept landing on the same point: the vehicle isn’t the problem. Neither is the drivetrain. Not even the electricity. So what is?

⛰️ The real issue is much bigger, and rarely framed as such.

When a logistics operator electrifies, they’re not just swapping diesel for electricity. They’re restructuring their entire operating model. Tour planning, dispatching, workshop, driver training, supplier relationships, energy procurement, contract logic with shippers, insurance, sometimes even the architecture of the yard itself. It’s a system change, not a purchase. And that’s exactly why so many offers miss the mark. They simplify something that creates a lot of headaches, far beyond the bare numbers.

🤝 A system change first and foremost needs clarity, not a shopping list of buzzwords. And someone from the field who shares the same picture, with enough experience-backed calm to keep things from breaking down between ten half-finished solutions.

📆 Those who understand this will see the market differently. And those who see it differently, will start doing things differently in the coming months. More on that in the weeks ahead.

🚚 Because competition belongs on the road, not in the power grid. ⚡
